Bob Hunter
Sunday Night At The Savoy

Bob Hunter gives us another two hours of great Jazz with his show, "Sunday Night At The Savoy," featuring Jazz vocalists singing those classic Jazz standards ...

Bob is a native of Pittsburgh, PA where, as a student, he frequented jazz clubs like the Encore in Shadyside. He’s loved music (particularly smooth jazz vocals) since he was boy singing with his mother, who played the Hammond B3 organ. Old-style jazz clubs are not completely lost, as recent visits to Yoshi’s in the Bay Area of California and Blues Alley in Washington, DC attest. Bob’s hour-long show, “Sunday at the Savoy,” gives him an opportunity to rummage through his extensive CD and vinyl collection to put together a playlist of weekly favorites in an attempt to replicate songs heard in jazz clubs old and new. For the past 40 years he’s taught law, mostly at Drake University. Like his music, his avocations tend to the quiet – read a book, take a walk, ride a bike, drink a cup of coffee.
